Well, wasn’t that great?!
After a season of outstanding shows, it is with a mixture of a little sadness and a little relief that the Marillion Weekends have come to a close. What a ride.. We looked out from the stage each night to "our people" having the best time.
From Port Zélande to Montreal, Paris to Girona, Padua to Leicester, Oslo to Berlin, you’ve all been in fine voice. Everywhere, tears, goosebumps and a cloud of love. It’s amazing to be at the centre of that.
The weekends are always special, but this year you somehow raised the bar.
It’s beautiful to know so many people travelled so far (some across the entire planet) to be with us and to watch new friendships form along the way. The family looks bigger and closer than ever.
Thank you to everyone who came to a concert. Thank you for buying our merchandise and wearing it with pride. Thank you to our incredible road crew and merch crew. Thank you Lucy, Frenchie, Mark and Stephanie. And kudos to Pete T for breezing through every moment like a 19 year-old. Phenomenal.
Now it’s time for a bit of a break — but we’ll be back in the studio in August to resume the creative process as our (somewhat delayed) next album takes shape. You won’t get it until it’s great.
We’ll see you on the road - On the beach the Kernowfornia Festival in September or maybe even December if you managed to grab a ticket for Utrecht...
Have a great summer - and thank you AGAIN for all your support.
As Tina Turner once said (when we did Top of the Pops alongside her) "You’re simply..."
Hugs,
Pete, Ian, Mark, Steve, h
