May 15, 2011 · I purchased this model because it was supposed to be heavier duty, it was even rated for ground engaging applications. As many are far too aware (and as I was not at the time of purchase), this tractor has the substandard Tuff Torq k46 transmission.

The mower itself is great (My LGT2654 mower has 285 hours on it now.) but the transmissions are total garbage. Unfortunately, the same company makes the transmissions for most all the hydrostatic mowers. Mine stated ‘failing to proceed’ at 50 hours and got steadily worse.
